Orpah & Her Lamb

My adopted sheep, Orpah had her lamb! This big, beautiful ewe lamb was born on April 26th and weighed in at 10 1/2 lbs. I can only imagine the beautiful wool that she'll produce as she grows. She was born on the Schacht Fleece Farm. in Bloomington, Indiana. Boy do I wish I lived closer!

AWE... My sheep - Claudia - is pregnant, too. What are you going to do with Orpah's fleece? You need to learn how to spin!!! I missed you - I am back from Germany since Saturday. There is sooooo much to catch up. Hope to see you sometime this week!

Hey Anne,
There are several places that have an Adopt-A-Sheep program. You pay an "adoption fee" for the care of the sheep for a year and when shearing time comes in the fall you get the wool produced from your sheep. I also was sent a picture and another picture along with a birth announcement when my sheep had her lamb. I chose the Schacht Feece Farm in Indiana but you can go online and do a search and find many others to choose from. I heard about it when I read Claudia's blog and thought the concept was just adorable.
